Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) supported by Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Tamil Nadu along with Times of India organized the 7th Annual Health Conference "TANCARE 2014" on 23rd December 2014 at the Park Hyatt Hotel, Velachery in Chennai. Dr. G.S.K Velu, convenor, Health Panel- FICCI TNSC said that there was a need to focus on the Tamil Nadu Vision 2023 which had highlighted major issues such as Women and Child Welfare, Futuristic Medical Technology, Enhancing Medical Tourism, Health Informatics, Focus on Medical Education and Skill Development. He also added that innovation and medical technology have the potential to reduce costs and disease burdens through early detection and prevention. Further, improve access, clinical outcomes, patient experiences and translate research into therapies & cures. Innovation that creates value can be incremental. The Event was inaugurated by Dr. C Vijaya Baskar, the Hon'ble Minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare, Govt of Tamil Nadu. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. J Radhakrishnan IAS, Secretary to Government, Health and Family Welfare Department, Govt. of Tamil Nadu.
